Definition
Safrinha is the Portuguese word for "small crop."<cite_reference_link> The suffix "inha" is a diminutive when applied to a noun. The term also implies a smaller or lower priority crop, in addition to meaning a second crop. Safrinha became a significant agricultural term when the farmers of the low latitude region of Brazil, below 15 degrees south latitude, developed a production system that leverages the long growing and raining season by planting and harvesting soybean and maize in succession.
